The packaging software landscape:
D2L: Packaging workflow optimization is a highly regarded aspect of the Kodak D2L. The D2L application encompasses facets of digital asset management, workflow management and graphics control through the proofing utility. D2L occupies a specialized workflow “cluster” within the larger Enterprise Content Management (ECM) marketplace, where it competes with:

* Digital Asset Management
* Proofing and specialized graphical solutions

However, the functional strengths of each D2L layer are not identified or widely sought after independent of the D2L “solution”. As a result, D2L (and Kodak) are generally not a part of the overall conversation about ECM. The D2L staff and products enjoy a good reputation and stable base among their very well known clients and the printing community, and ironically, almost unknown outside of this niche.
