The combination of excellent military institutions and poor military decisions were the reasons why germany’s plans failed. Germany was a major part of both world wars but because of their incompetence to make the right decisions caused them too fail in both world wars.

The German way of war was an emphasis on military necessity and aggressive leadership. Military necessity is where a nation or person involved in war has the right to apply any measures which are required to bring about the successful conclusion of a military operation. Even though the german way of war was important to them it caused numerous politaical and military mistakes. As a result of poor military decisions, many lives were needlessly lost in battle. For example, in the “Battle of the Innocents,” the Germans sent poorly trained students into battle and lost 30,000 out of 37,000 soldiers. And that act Due to tactical and strategic incompetence the introduction to chemical warfare was a failure yet successful because it had its ironies such as the wind blowing the gas back towards the Germans but it killed a great deal of german enemies. Even though they did have gas masks it wasn’t a very sufficient piece of protection. Many flaws lingered with the gas attack and the gas mask.

Germany took several offensive actions but that proved to be a failure so Erich Ludendoff, co-leader of the german army along with Paul von Hindenburg thought about the defensive actions instead which lead to the creation of defensive modern warfare. At first the Germans were successful but the new tatics failed because of political and strategic realities. If they improved on political and strategic realities then World War 1 mightve played out differently. The new warefare led to man successesand was impresssive, but the germans were still not victorious in war.
