How Recycling Paper Can Help Our Country

I worked in a corrugated box factory a few months ago, and I always wondered about the journey that paper went through to become a corrugated box. We watched a lot of learning videos at work where they showed us the process in which recycled paper became a new, reusable product. It was a cool process to watch and learn. Just to think how many trees were being saved by people taking a few moments to sort recyclables from their trash, was amazing. People do not realize how important recycling is to our future. Recycling can make our world and resources last that much longer. All it is going to take is people to care about the future of humanity.

There are a lot of good facts about recycling paper. As a caring person about the future of our country we should want to recycle just by hearing the facts. 1 of the facts is if all our newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000,000 trees per year. That right there makes me want to recycle by itself and it is only a fact about newspaper not all the other paper products, but you might ask what other resources can be saved besides trees. Each ton of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 3 cubic yards of landfill space, and 700 gallons of water and that’s only from one ton of paper. That’s a ton of resources that can be saved just by walking our paper to our recycling bin. Just think if people recycled paper it would save other resources like oil, and to think how much cheaper gas would be for our cars, just by recycling paper. Recycling is good because it costs three times more to dump trash in the landfill than it costs to reuse and recycle. Also when paper rots in a landfill, it creates methane, which contributes to global warming. Therefore, by recycling paper more often, our society can contribute less to global warming and more towards energy efficiency....
