Abstract

This paper identifies and analyses legal issues involved with a franchise of Pilates studios. It discusses the development of initial business planning ideas; the characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of the forms of business organizations; and determines which form of business is best for the franchise of Pilates studios.

Anyone can learn the skill of communication. Through culture, training, and education, people can learn to send a message and have the audience receive and understand the message. However, communication competence is an art. It takes more than an education in communication to go beyond speaking or writing a message.

Consider the following situation: You are attending a meeting which the speaker is effective at using all of the proper communication skills. You hear the message and understand it, but are bored with the meeting and are anxious for the meeting to end. The speaker would be considered to have communication competency in the scenario of communication competency being a skill. The leader was successful at giving his message to the audience, the audience receiving the message, and the audience understanding the message given.

Now, consider this situation: You are attending a meeting with a different speaker, same message, but a different approach of receiving the message. The speaker goes above and beyond the basic skills of conveying the message; he has captivated your attention. Not only are you interested in the message you are hearing, you want to hear more, and find the meeting interesting and worth-while.
