Read the Case Study entitled, “CitiStorage” on pages 652-653-.  Then, answer the questions at the end of the case. .

1. What method of harvesting his business did Brodsky choose? Describe the other methods of harvesting a business that were discussed in Chapter 13.

Brodsky chose selling the firm as his method of harvesting.

The other methods of harvesting are (1) selling the firm, (2) releasing the firm’s cash flows to its owners, (3) offering stock to the public through an initial public offering (IPO), and (4) issuing a private placement of the stock.

2. What advice would you have given Brodsky before he sold his business?

The type of advice that I would have given to Brodsky would have been to hire a research and consulting team to see were his business was and how it stacked up. No matter the cost, taking the time and money to research your company is priceless.

3. What suggestions would you give him for the future?

My suggestions to Brodsky would have been, learn to be a team player, learn your costumers’ wants and needs, and don’t be haste to make decisions without research.

4. Interview an entrepreneur who has sold his or her business. Compare his or her experience with Brodsky’s experience.

I do not personally know an entrepreneur that has sold their company.
