Performing and Visual Arts

Performing and visual arts tell stories and ideas in a way that help us make sense of our lives and our world. They are very important in our lives. They communicate certain ideas and feelings appeals to our minds, arouses our emotions, kindles our imagination, and enchants our senses. Thus, each artwork reflects the ideals, hopes and fears of the times in which an individual performer lived or lives. It is a language, which is charged with feelings and significance that has sprung up among men living together as it constitutes one of the oldest form and most important means of expression developed by man.

As I write this paper and think about art in its many ways, shapes and forms and I have used during my military career when I made presentation or planed mission. I had to expose my ideas and theories in a way that my fellow soldiers could understand what was required from them, from us and what was needed to accomplish the mission. Then I realized how art let us reach out to others and introduce us to new people we have never met, and go to places we have never being, and develop and share ideas that may have never crossed our minds.

By connecting us with other people, cultures and generations, we can learn a way to answer what is right or wrong, or what is true or false of our heritage and our history. Humanities help us address some of the challenges we face together as a family, a community, and as a nation. By showing how others have lived and thought about life, art help us decide what is important in our own lives and what we can do to make them better.

People that perform are considered artists. There are two kinds of artists, the creators and performers. Although the artistry of performers is based on the creation of others, they bring individual and personal interpretations to their performances because in the performing arts, the ideas and interpretations of the performer are added to the original ideas of the creator....
