Our adventure begins as four companions, an archer, wizard, brawler, and cleric stand in front of the king of the realm. The king has summoned the brave to come forth to embark on a quest to vanquish the evil shadows bent on annihilating the light in the hearts of the realms people. These four standing before the king are told to go forth, locate, and eradicate the evil Lord Leet. Before they leave the great hall of the king they are given a tool of the light, a shield bearing the crest of a fair maiden, which is said to purify the darkness of evil. With shield in hand the four make their way out of the great hall and into dangers unknown.

Once the companions are on the roads traveling towards the last known evil acts of Lord Leet, they question merchants on any details that may give them a lead. A farmer selling goods from a cart is very hesitant to speak on the subject. He says that dark clouds are coming, and it would be wise to seek shelter. The cleric steps forward to calm the farmer, and offer the light of the blessed shield to sooth his heart. With shield raised the crest glows, but the farmer is not soothed. Instead speaking in a demonic voice, the farmer proclaims that he is Lord Leet’s messenger, and the evil lord welcomes the companions. The demonic farmer tells the companions to head west to the hollow of trolls, and that will lead them to Lord Leet. With this said he vanishes into a cloud of smoke, and the companions are left pondering the demonic words.

Despite knowing that the hollow of trolls is a trap the companions go forth to find the whereabouts of Lord Leet. After traveling a day and night they arrive to find the hollow of trolls desolate of life, a barren ground deathly silent. In the middle of the hollow is a statue of a troll deity, a foreboding sign.
