Affects of Politics

As we know that the government's policies for education system kept changing from time to time. This will make parents confused with the changing system in their children's academic. As a result, parents will feel indecisive over their children's future. Besides, they also do not have a clear view of their children's future.

Let's take the abolishment of Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik Dalam Bahasa Inggeris ( PPSMI ) as an example. PPSMI was introduced in 2003 by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad who believed that the policy would boost Malaysia’s progress and global competitiveness. By 2008, PPSMI had been fully implemented in all primary and secondary schools nationwide. In 2009, however, Muhyiddin, who is also Education Minister, announced that PPSMI would be abolished as it had failed to achieve its objective of raising students’ proficiency in English. These constantly changing policies will makes parents feel like their children are being used as experiments by the government. The felt that the future of their children will be affected globally and thus questions the effectiveness of the education system in our country. Besides that the current situation of politics in our country do have some affect on family. Parents have doubts on the policies implemented by the government and this is important to have confidents for the parents on government policies.

Besides that, politics that played important role in running of the country must be well respect and fully supported by all. As a parents, they feel that every aspect of the policies implemented must be transparent. For examples, the judiciary system of the country besides the education system.
