Education Comparison
The United States has always been a country that has been looked up to
as a world leader for many years. This country gets scrutinized quite often
by other nations in all aspects of the United States society. One area that
has been questioned by many nations is the United States current education
system’s under achievements in comparable to other advanced nations abroad.
Many of today’s leaders are aware of the problems with the United States
education system; however, there are currently no plans in place to solve
them. If the United States wants to remain one of the leading nations in this
world, it is important that the government designs a plan to improve the
education system in order to keep up with the performance of other nations.
The education system in the United States has been a topic of
discussion and concern throughout the county. The current system of
education is offered to children, adolescents, and adults. The majority of
the education programs are ran by the states and local governments. In
addition, the majority of the funding for these schools also come from them
as well. Due to the fact that the school systems are ran locally, this leads
to a wide variety of curriculum that varies in different communities. Since
there are 50 states, there is a possibility of having at least 50 different
sets of rules, regulations, and standards when it comes to education. A
students education level could be only based on where they live. Scholars in
political economy and sociology of knowledge have argued that public schools
in complex industrial societies like our own make available different types
of educational experience and curriculum knowledge to students in different
