Kudler Fine Foods must determine which type of AIS will provide them with the best results based upon the information they may need. Therefore, this brief will examine Kudler Fine Foods rationale and analysis for behind the recommended course of action. Also, the brief will clarify the characteristics of the system that support the recommended course of action and describe how the AIS incorporates the recommended changes to add value to Kudler’s Fine Foods accounting operations.

Rationale and Analysis

Kudler Fine Foods is in need of an accounting information system (AIS) that can efficiently process payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory. Implementing a customized AIS appears to the most ideal approach, however it is the most expensive and can be often unreliable. It is in the organization’s best interest to use industry specific software which is in inexpensive and moderately reliable.

Furthermore, since Kudler Fine Foods is just getting into the catering business, this is not the best time for them to spend a lot of money on software. They should be investing most of their money into the business.

Therefore, the recommended course of action for Kudler Fine Foods is an industry specific accounting information system.

Characteristics of the Accounting Information System

The characteristics of the accounting information system for inventory, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable allow for easier automation, better accuracy of accounting, and manage the accounts more effectively.
