Media Management is one very desirable skill for every organization to possess, be it a business, a sports team, a political party. The reason for this being that media management can build or demolish one’s image in a matter of seconds. In today’s world where media has no limitation regarding geography it is essential to pay attention to this vastly ignored skill. One more reason for this is that public belief in media reports is enormous and can actually sway public opinion very easily.

Media Management is not easy but can be mastered in due course of time just like any other skill. But it takes immense perseverance and dedication to truly become good at it.

It is very important because in most crisis management scenarios, the outcome depends heavily on what you do and say in the first few hours. What the news media report in their first stories — and how they view your coping skills — will often set the tone for the entire crisis.
