Concert Review 1

The first concert I attended was on October 1. It was a concert for the Duquesne Wind Symphony and Symphony Band. This concert was very moving to me since I have never been to a concert that was so upbeat like this before. I have always heard symphony concerts are so much superior when listening live rather than hearing the same rhythm and tone on a stereo.

The Carnegie Music Hall is simply breath taking. I honestly felt I was living during the Renaissance Festival in Rome. The mood to listen to classical music is wonderful because the feel of classic background the music represents. I did not expect for a group of young college band members to sound as professional as I heard that night. The time and preparation that went into this concert I am sure is hard work and dedication. It was coming together right in front of me. As the concert proceeded I became more involved and began to pay nearer attention to the instruments that were being played and how hard each musician was working to make that present song perfect. My favorite piece was The Spirit of Pagentry was my favorite song of the night because you could find out which instrument was playing when emphasized just by the speed of the music.

My views toward classical music were completely different when I left the music hall. No longer boring music that I could not relate to, no longer thought how terrible it will be going to these concerts. Music, for that moment in my life, changed my life completely.
