Study Activities on the History of Nursing

Introduction

I am writing this essay to look at the different study activities I did in order to learn more about the History of Nursing. To complete this assignment, I felt that it would be beneficial to discover the most appropriate learning methods for me as an individual. So part of my research will be an example of this. I will then gather my information in a variety of different mediums of learning, concentrating on three main areas a) time-keeping and management, in regards to creating the ideal environment and time of day for learning; b) reading -from different resources such as library books and journals; and c) the use of the internet for researching websites and online journals and materials. For each of these categories, I will explain my personal journey into using these tools as a way of learning and how they have helped me gather the information I have needed. I will then compare and contrast my findings in relation to other authors and professionals who have worked in this area. To finish off, I will conclude my findings and have a much broader understanding of my chosen topic.

I have chosen History of Nursing because it is a vast topic with plenty of different routes to go down where I felt I could easily discover and learn new things. For me, I feel that nursing is a vocation and to look back into the past at the influential people in history that have impacted nursing, such as Florence Nightingale and Mother Theresa and to see their works, would inspire me into my own career as a nurse. To have a solid background in my identity as a nursing professional will help me strive towards future goals.
