1. Describe the proposal/change.

This is a proposal to review the criteria impairment listings used to evaluate mental disorders in adults and children in accordance to Titles II and IVI of the Social Security Act. This proposal also means certain sections will be removed added back to other sections of the Social Security Administration regulations. The reason for the proposed changes is the result of adjudicative experience and advances in medical knowledge recommended in a commissioned report and comments from experts of the field and the public.

2. State the administrative agency which controls the regulation. Explain why this agency and the proposed regulation caught your interest. Will this proposed regulation affect you or someone you know personally? Will it impact the business in which you are working/have plans to work in? If so, how?

This regulation is control by Social Security administration. The subject matter of the proposal is very sensitive. One of my friends has a mental disorder and experiencing this close it does concern me. I do support revision decision to expand the mental disorders listings to include more categories. I also support the proposal to add criteria for an “extreme” limitation to the “B” criteria, making the evaluation more alike to that used to evaluate practical equivalency in childhood claims. No it will not impact my business but it will affect me emotionally.

As I am planning to be a parent and experiencing closely from by friend who is a father of a child with mental disorder does worry me severely. I am in agreement with the proposed changes.
