Abstract

The phenomenon of school shootings throughout the nation have delivered petrifying feelings of peril all over communities and have pushed for an understanding of how these devastating and horrific acts of violence spilled out into the communities. After the reality of what has happened sets in questions still linger in the minds of many. Why did they do it? What happened on that faithful day that led them to kill? Was there anything we could have done to prevent this from happening? This paper will address these questions by exploring the events that occurred in the Virginia Tech School Shooting and discuss how low cost step could make college campuses a safer place for students at a low cost....
