Mystic Monk Coffee

I. Identification of the problem

The vision of mystic monk is to be able to expand monastic activities for the glory of God. The problem lies with the financing the monks need, because they wanted to expand and buy the Irma Lake Ranch located 21 miles outside Cody Wyoming to be able to accommodate 30 monks. The monks have often relied on donations and the mystic monk coffee. What will be the strategies mystic monk would do to increase its profit in order to finance the buying of Irma Lake Ranch for the expansion of the monastery?

II. Objectives

The objective of mystic monk is to be able to generate enough money to be able to buy the parcel of land. They should not rely only on donations but they should also make money in order to be able to sustain themselves. They should come up with a business plan targeted at success without being constricted by cloistered monastic constraints.

Internal Analysis

Management

Mystic Monk coffee is run and managed by Carmelite Monks in Wyoming under Father Prior Daniel Mary. The monks have a clear vision and mission for their order and that Mystic Monk Coffee is an important factor in achieving their vision and mission.

Operations

Mystic Monk operation is restricted by the monks strict schedule. Brother Elias, Mystic Monk’s brewer, only has 6 hours to roast and brew the coffee beans to be used in their products. This is further restricted by their roaster capacity of 540 pounds per day. Demand has not yet exceeded their roaster’s capacity and they are looking forward to buying a new roaster in case demand exceeds their production limits.

Marketing
