Introduction

In nowadays automobile transportation consist an integral part of our civilization. This kind of transportation is necessary for most of the people that using vehicles almost every day. But as it happens with the most technological advancements automobile transportation has both positive and negative advantages. This report is about one major disadvantage of automobile transportation that also consists a major issue for all the scientists and governments around the world and has many dangerous effects for both planet and people. This serious disadvantage is the pollution of the air through traffic and it is called traffic pollution. The emissions of the exhausts of the vehicles contain a big value of serious pollutant elements like Carbon Monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons and Nitrogen Oxide (NO2). Also they contain a serious amount of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) which may not be consisted as serious pollutant factor although it is responsible for one of the biggest issues our planet is facing, the Greenhouse effect. As a result of all those problems, a lot of technological changes and alternative resources of energy are being used in order to control all this serious effects and make our environment healthier and safer. The aim of this report is to explain the effects of the traffic pollution and to present the new technological changes that can be used order to avoid the expansion of this problem and to manage to eliminate the damage that our environment has already accepted.
