Bridger Teton (Preservationist)

When it comes to conservation and preservation, there is a distinct separation of the two. The major difference between them is that conservation if the sensible use of the natural resources by maintaining the sustainability of those resources for our future generations. For example, in order to do so, for every tree that is cut down, a few more should be planted to take their place. This should be done in advance to cutting down the trees so we can replenish our losses. In contrast, preservation is there in order to maintain nature and our resources in their present state, leaving them untouched by civilization.

I believe that with given more research, individuals can find a way to harvest forest resources in an environmentally friendly way. In the future, I predict society either finding new natural resources or developing new technology to remove natural resources without disturbing the environment and its habitats. The second option would be spectacular, due to the fact that we actually do have products that are supposedly made environmental-friendly such as cleaning products.

In the case of Bridger Teton, I do not believe we should leave the area open for exploration for oil and gas. In my view, I think we would destroy our national forests by allowing such an option. If we were to start exploration and were to find the resources of oil, this would mean that the wildlife would have to be destroyed in order to keep on searching.

I would have to say that I am inclined to the preservation side of this argument. We really need to acknowledge our future and what our decisions due to make it. I also believe we all need to find new and better solutions to our problem so that both humans and wildlife will never have to go without the resources we all need to survive, and without harming one another and our living spaces.
