How the Internet Will Save the World

Since the creation of the Internet, it has aided in many developments/accomplishments known to man today. It serves as a type of social media, news retriever, professional sports watcher, and financial guidance counselor. The Internet is capable of doing an almost unlimited number of things, but one thing that most people don’t realize is that the Internet may help save the world from self-destruction. The Internet may help save us from death by disease, natural disasters, and loss of useful information.

Over course of time disease has killed more people than war. Humans are nasty creatures that carry numerous diseases and contact with these infected humans makes it easy for these diseases to spread and multiply. The Internet saves all of the human contact from happening which in turn saves the diseases from spreading. With the Internet, if one is sick with the flu, then they can stay home and shop, pay bills, and research upcoming events. The Internet has also enabled us to use Telemedicine. This helps us take care of ourselves by enabling us to check our vital signs, core temperatures, and check for symptoms all from home without the huge flock of sicklies to the medical center when the flu breaks out. The Internet will save us from disease.

The Internet can also help saves innocent lives from natural disasters. The traveling speed of emergency knowledge is traveling faster now than ever before. The Internet has helped create an early warning system to enclosing dangers. An example of this would be the California fires; people were updating twitter and Facebook describing where the fires heading and how fast they were moving. This allowed people to evacuate with their families and belongings. Many people could have died that day had it not been for the early alert system of the Internet.
