Goals

1.What organizational goal is driving this training?

The Application Analyst (AA) Department was asked by upper management to be more effective with their documentation.

2. What will the benefit be?

Upgrading to Document Manager will make the AA's jobs more efficient. The problem of not being able to share information amongst AA's will be fixed and the AA's will now be unable to share information through a document repository. Document Manager facilitates a template in it for the AAs to use which would make the AA's work much easier and quicker.

3. What is the skill gap?

Currently, AA's use Word Perfect 2001, while Document Manager requires the AA's to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word 2007.

4. What competencies (knowledge, skills, or attitudes) will this program need?

The AA's have to possess exceptional abilities and familiarity with computers and software. The AA's need greater than a 2 hour block of instruction on Document Manager and Word 2007, and also a test administered to them on Document Manager and Word 2007.

5. What evaluation will be used to measure the level of goal achievement?

The task analysis method used to measure the level of goal achievement in this case study will be the Micro Model. The function of the training described in this case study is to change, the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behavior that support the organization's mission and goal achievement.
