Applied Supply Chain Strategies in Retail

This document discusses the supply chain issues and solutions of several industry competitors in the retail environment. The first industry competitor is Office Depot which has leverage technology applications to integrate its sales floor and sales staff into its supply chain solutions. The second industry competitor is Wal-Mart which has used technology applications to make its supply chain more efficient and responsive which reduces or eliminates the need for inventories at all. I have applied several supply chain strategies to explicitly show how the retail environment is expanding and becoming vegirously competitive. I had the experience dealing with supply chain involved Wall mart, Home depot, and others, but every single one of these retail institution follow different approach on how to do things operating business.

Raley’s manages to operate on three fronts ,including Ozark transportation ,sunnyside,and Westpac warehouse .Inventory control management it can be very difficult to control unless, technology and computerized control systems is involved .Supply chain efficiency must be applied and is the most effective among all other strategies in food retail business .Pricing,inventory,and product tracking control access methods. Many of these companies listed in my report have applied different methods of supply chain strategies ,but in comparison they all follow the same approach at the end .However, most of the time details of their operations is not explicitly shown ,but the bottom line is how efficient and well structured the supply chain strategies is applied .
