Macbeth and Macduff have characteristics that are similar and ones that are different. In this essay, I will compare and contrast some of these characteristics.

In the beginning of the book, Macbeth and Macduff are seen as brave warriors. They are both generals in the battlefield and have both defeated two separate armies from Ireland and Norway. They are both great leaders. Macbeth is thane of Glamis, and Macduff is eventually the leader of the crusade to overthrow Macbeth.

In contrast, Macduff was very selfless. He is concerned with helping Scotland whereas Macbeth is very selfish because he is more concerned with helping himself. They both heard prophecies from the three witches saying that Macbeth will become King of Scotland. Macbeth is focused on doing everything in his power to become king just because it will make him have more control. He ends up killing King Duncan and goes on committing more murders. Banquo and his son were also murdered by Macbeth to cover up anyone's suspicion. Macduff on the other hand is more focused on providing what is best for Scotland. Macduff shows his love for Scotland whereas Macbeth shows his love for himself.

Macbeth is strong at first, but after he murders Malcolm he has a guilty conscience.

Macduff has a worry about Macbeth at the start, but then he sees how he's weak and becomes strong and kills him. Macbeth show's strength by killing an army at the start of the story.

Macbeth is a Scottish general and the Thane of Glamis, who fought strong and bravely though wars. Macduff is a Scottish man, hostile to Macbeths kingship. As Macbeth tries to befriend Macduff and then push him out of the way and takes the crown.

Macbeth is violent and Macduff isint because Macduff dosent want to kill to get his priorities while Macbeth does by killing his friends and their families to stand in everyone's way.
