We need to constantly reinvent ourselves in this changing world. We need innovative methods; we need people who are willing to change and adapt quickly.

I’ve followed my dreams all my life circumvented accepted conventions and been successful at finding trends and cashing in on them. I always was looked upon as a conventional geek in college, a typical ‘computer guy’. I did use technology at places where it was frowned upon ranging from arranging events to building software that helped me and many others take decisions that were well researched instead of ‘the gut feeling’. I always did know my future was in the high technology industry. I earned my bachelor’s degree in computer science to build a strong base for this career. I bited my time, observed the industry and narrowed my interest to telecommunications industry. I joined Nokia, a world leader in mobile technology to get an insight into the research and development involved in the telecommunications industry. Now I intend to take things to the next higher level. I see problems with the processes and lack of adaptability to changing demands in the industry. I see the industry in deep slumber at a time when we are observing a huge boom which will change the way we communicate. In my position as a Symbian/C++ developer I have been awarded for innovative ideas but finally the idea goes dead as no one takes them to the product and they remain as an idea. At my position, with my current expertise I see myself growing as a facilitator to decisions rather than someone who took them. We had a technical architect in Nokia develop the idea of a touch phone on the same lines as the iPhone but the management did not see a future of it at that time. We missed our opportunity.
