Training Need Assessment

* Department: The Application Analyst

* Desired Program: To have all AAs trained on Windows 2007 and Document Manager.

Goals

1. What organizational goal is driving this training? Having all the AAs using the Document Manager.

2. What will the benefit be? That the AAs will be able to share documentation.

3. What is the skill gap?

4. What competencies (knowledge, skills, or attitudes) will this program need? The AAs must have the knowledge of Windows 7 and Document Manager.

5. What evaluation will be used to measure the level of goal achievement? Lori would like for each employee to pass a test using Microsoft Word 2007 and Document Manager before attaining access to the new program.

Target Population

1. Who will be trained? All the Application Analyst employees

2. What is the estimated class size? 2500 people

3. How many classes will there be and how long will this training last? 167 classes, 15 employees per class at least 2 hours long.

4. What are the knowledge and skill prerequisites? To be able to use Word Perfect 2001 and be able to use online training via the intranet site.

1. What type of program is being proposed? Document Manager

2. What media, if any will be used in the training? none

Alternatives

1. What will happen if we do not delivering the training? The AAs will not know how to properly use the new program.

2. What are the restrictions or limitations for delivering a program? That every employee must attend a 2 hour training class and be able to pass a test before they will be granted access to the program.

3. What other methods may be used to reach the goal (include limitations and advantages)? They could use a shared drive on the network and have step by step examples of how to use the new program. Having a help desk for any troubles that employees have during the...
