1. How easy was it to find the specific occupation you were looking for, and how comprehensive was the information provided about that occupation?

According to the O*NET website it is a primary source of occupational information and it contains information on hundreds of standardized and occupation-specific descriptors, I was able to find the comprehensive information about the position I searched which was Chemical Dependency Counselor. Finding the information was very easy and I must say that I really enjoyed how well the website is working, it is very user friendly and within few clicks I found out every little bit of info that I was looking for. Various titles were provided for my search of Chemical Dependency Counselor such as Mental Health & Substance Abuse Social Worker, Mental Health Counselors, and many others. The information provided about this occupation was comprehensive and I must say I was little sort of shocked about how many different titles came under this particular job description.

2. What did you think of the occupations O*NET suggested as matching your skills? Was the occupation you are in or preparing for among those listed?

Every occupation requires a different mix of knowledge, skills, and abilities, and is performed using a variety of activities and tasks. The O*NET website not only provided what a person would do given the particular occupation searched it also provide information on what to expect actually working on that particular job.

3. As an HR professional, how could O*NET be useful in conducting a job analysis? Explain specifically how you would use the data from this site to assist your organization.
