1)      It is widely recognized that our moral values come from three major sources: Personal, Societal, and Group. Given your moral value set, indicate some of the moral values you hold that fit into each of the categories. That is, which ones belong to “personal”, which ones to “societal”, and which ones to “group”. Indicate how you would rank those values in terms of importance and/or centrality to your moral beliefs. Then indicate some moral values other people hold that conflict with some of yours and indicate into which of the categories they belong. (5 points)

2)      Discuss the difference between the relationship that exists that links a patient with  her health professional that is based on providing care from a relationship based on providing cure. (5 points)

3)   Describe the three prototypes of ethical problems -- distress, dilemma, locus of authority --  and provide an example of each. (5 points)

4)      Describe each of the moral principles listed within table 4.2, with the exception of "paternalism" which is not actually a moral principle. Show how some of those principles reflect a deontologic theory while others reflect a teleologic theory. (5 points)

5)      Imagine a situation that may arise in your professional (or social) life that would pose a challenge to your personal morality. Provide the details of this situation and indicate what are the moral principles in the situation that creates the challenge. (10 points)

6)      The moral principle of autonomy and the practice of paternalism that is based on the moral principle of beneficence, often are in conflict. Why is that so? Provide a story in which the conflict arises. (10 points)

7)      Respond to question #3 on page 95-96 of Doherty and Purtilo's book. Identify and discuss all of the moral principles that are relevant to this story. (10 points)

8)      Apply the six-step process for moral reasoning to two of the following three cases. (25 points each)...
