An institution of your choice is located in a rural area.  An on-site wastewater disposal system is used.  More residents are being admitted to this institution as time goes on.  Write a 2-3-page paper in which you address the following:

1) Describe the institution and setting.

2) Describe the potential drawbacks of this system.

3) Explain how potential problems may be avoided.

4) Describe an alternative disposal system that may be used in this institution to properly dispose of wastewater.

Queston 1:

Describe the institution and setting.

Keithville behavior institution is located in the rural areas of Keithville Louisiana. The population in Keithville ranges from five hundred to a thousand. Surround by pecans, dogwood and willow trees. Lots of pines too, when the Pines needles fall, it causes the wastewater to continue sit on the ground on the needles. This center has a three-mile walking trail that overlook lake Hamilton. Beautiful flowers along side the trail that stay in bloom all year round and the institution have a capacity of three hundred. The disposal system is a septic tank build long time ago and has never been change. This system has started to backflow inside the bathroom toilet, drainage area and overflow where drainage area are. On the East side the walking trail, stays flooded with wastewater. The odor is very strong and has started to increase in flying insects. This system has not been inspected, maintenance or needed repairs. Time after time even more regularly now, the system must be siphoned into a distribution tank.
