Nuclear Power Plants

The energy crisis has become a major problem all over the world, especially in the developing

world that needs more energy. Countries like the USA, consume five times more energy than the rest of the world, however the developing countries like India and China are also showing rises in energy consumption and this will increase. Nuclear power is complicated, development of nuclear energy has been happening since the 1940s and nuclear energy only contributes to 7% of the worlds energy demand. Currently the United States and Canada received 20% of electric power from nuclear plants. The rest of the world is at 6% but rising. Nuclear energy could be the answer to global warming and volatile climate changes because it provides efficient energy and does not directly lead to CO2 emissions.

Nuclear energy can be processed in two forms:

Fission: is a nuclear reaction process in which the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts often producing free neutrons and protons, (in the form of) gamma rays and releasing a very large amount of energy even by the standards of radioactive decay.

Fusion: nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei collide very high speed and join to form a new type of atomic nucleus. During this process, matter is not conserved because some of the mass of fusing nuclei is converted to photons which are released through a cycle that even our sun uses. Fusion is a process that powers active stars. There is a definable reason why I would suggest using nuclear power as an energy source: first of all I think in the future, people will deplete natural resources such as oil, mineral stratum etc... In that case they have to find an alternative solution for energy such as nuclear power plants.

In addition, if governments can realize that they should use nuclear power more frequently, maybe they can protect natural resources is too late. Nuclear power is the use of sustained nuclear fission to...
