Assessment 1-1:

Objective: To create simple queries using Web Intelligence and to analyze data on the number of bikes sold in relation to Country, Calendar Year and Distribution Channel.

1.1

Create a new Web Intelligence document showing the Sales Quantity by Calendar Year. How many bikes have been sold by Bike Company to-date?

1.2

Slicing: Create a query filter to show Sales Quantity by Calendar Year of bikes sold using only the Wholesale distribution channel. How many bikes have been sold to-date using the Wholesale distribution channel?

Dicing: Further restrict the query by creating an ADDITIONAL query filter to show Sales Quantity by Calendar Year of bikes sold to customer Beantown Bikes using the Wholesale distribution channel. How many bikes have been sold to-date to Beantown Bikes over the Wholesale?

Analyzing data using a Crosstab:

a. Create a new query to display the Sales Quantity by Customer and Calendar Year

b. Create a Crosstab and display the Sales Quantity in terms of Customer (columns) and Calendar Years (rows).

c. How many bikes were sold to Capital Bikes between 2008 and 2011?

d. How many bikes were sold to ALL customers in the Year 2010?

5. Change the query by removing the Customer dimension object and adding the Material dimension object. Run the query

6. Drag the Material dimension object and drop it onto the column of the crosstab. What does the analysis now show?
