Nowadays, the workload of a student is getting increasingly overwhelming that many turn to caffeine as a solution to stay up just to complete their work. Research has shown that teenagers are sleeping less than 7 hours a day, as compared to the 8-9 hours of sleep they are supposed to be getting. Further research done by the National Coffee Association of the United States of America (USA), has shown that in the USA alone, 53% of the consumers of caffeine products are aged 18 and above. As time goes on, to upkeep their lifestyle of pulling all-nighters to get work done, these students get hooked onto caffeine unsuspectingly without realizing the serious consequences of it. Therefore, if you realize that you are addicted to caffeine, you are strongly encouraged to start taking steps to cope or get rid of this addiction.

Caffeine gives students an adrenaline rush that helps them to focus better and stay energized. Due to factors such as poor time management, they often stay up late to complete their work. As the night passes, they start to wear out hence they use caffeine to keep them up. The lack of sleep from the previous night leads to exhaustion the next day resulting in students reaching out for caffeine in the day as well. Thus, this becomes a vicious cycle, often leading to caffeine dependency. They start off by taking caffeine only when needed, slowly their body will start to develop a tolerance to it. Eventually, they have to resort to increasing the caffeine intake to get the same energy lift. Similar to other drugs, caffeine is addictive and affects your body. Although it increases your alertness temporarily, it also leads to irregular sleeping habits, caffeine dependence and other health risks in the long run. Therefore, if you think you have a caffeine addiction, you can take the following necessary steps to quit it.
