Any situation in the workplace must have some kind of solution. Although the company came up with its own decision making process of how to handle the situation, a few changes could be made to cure the problem. Based on another's character, that person can make decisions based on their personal virtue; they could also base their resolution on their own obligation or their sense of duty to do what is right. If a Human Relations Manager's character is very open and concerned of people's well being, then they may approach the situation different than someone who is close-minded and not as caring. The manager could have a completely different decision making process of how to handle the situation. The new process could start out by talking with the affected employee's manager and ask them to find out more information. This manager can come in and report of anything that might be happening with the employee's actions, if anything at all. Afterwards, a manager's meeting could be held to evaluate the issue at hand. They can discuss how the employee alters the actions of other employees working in the department, if anything at all. With more information gathered, the better a decision can be made on what needs to happen on the work floor. When the meeting is over, the employee can come and discuss with the HR Manager their side of the story and their requests of accomodation. The Human Relations Manager can inform the employee that a plan is being implemented, and they will be told when a decision has been made. A decision of their accomodations will then be decided once the employee is outside of the office. Another manager's meeting could be held to discuss the implementations and make adjustments to the employees' schedules if necessary (for instance, their scheduled break times and work hours).
