Tasks:

The following tasks are based on Chapter 4 in Monk and Wagner (2009):

• With reference to Figure 4-1 explain the manufacturing process of Fitter Snacker;

• Explain the various problems in Fitter Snack in production process;

• With reference to Figure 4-2 explain the production planning process embedded in SAP ERP system;

• With reference to Figure 4-3 explain the process of performing sales forecast;

• With reference to Figure 4-5 explain the process of sales and operations planning;

• Explain the concept and Demand Management and its relationship to master production schedule and material requirements planning;

• With reference to “Kellogg Company: Sales and Operations Planning” explain the importance of efficient sales and production planning process;

The following tasks are based on the readings “Supply Chain Visibility” (Rosemann, 2004) and “Interorganizational Processes: Supply Chain Management” (Kroenke et al, 2010)

• Explain the concept of Supply Chain Visibility and its importance in SCM. What could be the ethical issues related to supply chain information sharing;

• Describe a supply chain and its various parts or participants with an example;

• Identify critical drivers of a successful supply chain.

The following tasks are based on the reading material “The Production Process” in Magal and Word (2012) and “Global Bike Inc.” (With readings in pdf format in unit MyLO site). It gives you more background information on production related concepts, processes and tasks:
