Social Loafing: Describe the tendency of some team members that under perform relying on the other members of the team.

Synergy: Is when a team can achieve better results than all its members individually.

Project Teams: Is a team created to achieve a specific task, and it is usually broken down once the goal is achieved.

Cross-functional Teams: Refers to a team which includes individuals from different departments in an organization.

Self-managing Work Teams: Describes teams with enough power to perform tasks and set parameters on how to achieve their own goals.

Group Process: Describes the way a team achieves its goals.

Group Think: Explains the occasions when an excessive personal relation between the members of the team negatively affects their abilities to professionally interact.

Team Building: Refers to the actions taken to measure the level of performance of a team to make it more effective.

Team Development Stages:

Forming Stage: This is the first phase of a team. This is the stage where the members of the team get to meet each other and exchange thoughts. This phase is important because the first impressions and assumptions about the other team members are developed. During this phase, team members start to identify themselves with each other; they usually feel more comfortable and identify better with some over the others.

Storming Stage: During this stage, the team members start exchanging opinions guided towards the main goals and tasks assigned to the team. This is the stage where the first ideas and concerns are brought up. This stage is very controversial because all the team members share their ideas and thoughts about different issues and procedures.
