Class discussion, cluster staff meeting, central staff brain storming, in this way we prepare ourselves in this community immersion program. We should be prepared, always ready. Every detail must be settled down. From our clothes to wear every day, to our food in every meal, to our transportation and to the activities we are going to experience this program. They all should be set before we take off and land to the field. Through the combined effort and knowledge and wisdom of our dear professor, we have come up with a plan that will surely guide us to the success of this activity.

The day has come. Everyone of us is so excited. Travelling together from Iloilo and across the beautiful island of Guimaras. This is the best time for us to know deeper the personality of each other. We are about to stay together in the same house for a week. For a long time, we are from the jurisdiction of our parents.

We visited East Valencia National High School. There, we have been exposed to a very different set of students. The school is quite small, but it gives us an overflowing number of memories that in our lives, we will treasure. We have developed a personal connection with the students. Though in a small period of time that we have been together, we have made many unforgettable experiences that at this moment, still remains in each of our minds. We have a great time during the science share-a-thon, where we expose them on different science activities and experiments. I cannot also forget the time when we mentor them for the grand show. They were all “go na go” to the dance number that we have choreograph.

We have also visited the community of the fishermen and their mangrove forest. We take a look on the diverse sanctuary of mangrove that has bountifully flourished on the shore of their community.
