Using Animals in Research and Scientific Experiment is a Blessing

While I chose the topic, I just could not think about a movie named “Spiderman 4” where a scientist tries to do well to the human race by reproducing limbs but instead he ended up becoming Dr. Croc, a vile person. The only reason behind this was the scientist experiments the medicine to his body before fully examined. Now let us put this whole fantasy into reality to make things more vivid. If the scientist used a rat or other animal and fully examined it until he could find a satisfactory result, he would have been world famous for his research. Who knows he might have won the Nobel Prize! Now if we look at present, it is highly recommended by scientists to run the experiment on animals for the best result. Since, animal abuse is restricted by laws and rules, it is not invalidated and it is highly effective for animals too, it can easily be said that using animal as guinea pig is a blessing.

Though animal use in research is something that every scientist craves for some people thinks it is inhumane and abusive. A very common example is dissecting toad/frog at ninth grade for science student. Dissect is more like study of animal’s anatomy by cutting it apart. Therefore, some people might say that this “dissect” is inhumane because students in such little age are getting along with blood. On the other hand, there are sometimes when animal research is failed to cover every scientific experiment and expectations. It needs to cover all sort of organic changes and if does not happen, the result can be redundant. An example of Thalidomide drug can be given that it worked perfectly until scientist found that it is not safe for pregnant women. Scientist could not found it before because they did not experiment or cover a pregnant chimpanzee. So, thalidomide is banned in 1960 (Cuthbertson, 1968). Therefore the thought of inhumane act and animal abasement could come up. Yet there are some important...
