There are many types of blood diseases in the world. Some you may have symptoms for other you may not, some are hereditary and others you get when you are born, older or sick. This paper will be discussing three different cases of different blood diseases.
In Lily’s case, she is a four tear old Caucasian female. She has been complaining of being tired all the time, she is also pale and a picky eater. Her mother is a single mom with a small budget to feed a large family. Lily only eats breads, pasta, hot dogs and artificial fruit punch. Lily has been diagnosed with deficiency anemia. First what is anemia and how does it affect us. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough healthy blood cells and the iron is as an important for the red blood cells. Let’s talk about red blood cells before we continue. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin’s, it’s a complex iron-containing protein that carries oxygen all through the body and then gives blood its red color. Patients who benefit the most from transfusions of red blood cells are those with chronic anemia resulting from disorders such as kidney failure. So back to anemia, when your body does not have enough iron it will in turn make fewer red blood cells ore red blood cells that are small which causes iron deficiency anemia, there are many thing that can cause iron deficiency anemia.
Blood loss- when you lose blood you also lose iron. Heavy periods, internal bleeding and the loss of blood from an injury.
Poor diets- Some of the best sources of iron come from meat, poultry, and fish. Even vegetarians can still get a good source of iron from vegetables like spinach and other food that is iron fortified. Lily is not getting any of these iron enriched foods.
Not being absorbed in the body- In some people their bodies are just not absorbing the iron that is needed. There are medications for those specific people....
