Bully Breed Dogs

Does the dog in above picture look one that would harm you or love you? Why are people afraid of these big, beautiful, innocent creatures? Knowledge is everything. Please be informed that it is not the dog, it is the human. Many people are judging these animals without knowing the truth. Many of these poor dogs are being euthanized for no reason because of those that don’t know. Let’s stop this behavior before these beautiful dogs are gone for good. We will take a closer look at these wonderful large dogs. Where did they come from? How long have they been around? What were they breed for? I will bring you to a closer to understanding the nature of these bulldogs. Society has given them a bad rap. We as human beings need to learn about these dogs and be confident in ourselves to teach others that these dogs are not as they seem.

It is surprising to most, people that the bully breed dogs include some of America's most beloved dogs. From large-and-in-charge boxers to small and stout Boston terriers, there are a variety of dogs that fall under the category of "bully breeds". (http://animal.discovery.com/petsource/bully-breeds) Bulldog breeds include a number of breeds, which owe their heritage to Bull and Mastiff - type dogs of indefinite origin. Several breeds of dogs are commonly referred to as pit bull types or bully breeds. The list can go on but, here are the most common types of bully breeds: American pit bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Boxer, Boston terrier, Bulldog, Bullmastiff, and Staffordshire bull terrier.

The history of the bully breed dog is long. Even though this type of dog has a history of being used for dog fighting, that is as far from the truth about their history.
