There does not seem to be a definite course to enroll in for the study of social history as there are courses such as American History and History of Civilizations for instance. The social aspects of history are very easily identified by what recollecting what was occurring during that same time and using those instances as markers to that period. Social history cannot be limited to only being intellectual and social or just economical since all of these aspects play a contributing role in what is known about society and create the very history.

I have presented this thesis with deep assurance that the statements presented by modern Western philosophers Friedrich Nietzsche, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, and Karl Marx which will support the previously stated thesis and solidify my stance with each statement to be made. I have presented this as my thesis because I believe that to only limit social history to economic standings at that time would neglect the other worthy and important occurrences of that time and to only credit the social history to the intellectual and cultural parts of life would ignore the economics which is what reflects and identifies the stance of society at that time. Since I will be expressing an agreement with both ideals asked in the prompt, I will not be giving more credit to the economic ideal or more to the intellectual or cultural contributions to the social history.

My strong belief in the support of the argument that social history is influenced by not only intellectual and cultural themes, but also the economic standings during that time in history. Social history is defined by the standing of society at that time and the economic, intellectual and cultural standards of that time all play a role in what is seen during that time.
