Character Sketch: Jerry

* Physical description -

Jerry Renault is a 14year old freshman at an all-boys, Catholic high school called Trinity. Hes five nine and weighs 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He comes across as a shy boy, but he doesn’t take anything from anyone, he can handle whatever comes hes way.

* Emotional Status

At the beginning – Jerry’s emotions at the beginning of the noval are very messed up, hes hurt because of the football tryout, no one of the team members believe that hes good enough for the team, they think he’s too weak, so they like to pick on him.

The Middle – Jerrys starts to feel a little more powerful and not so upset after he stand up to the Vigils after still refusing to sell the chocolate bars, which make him a threat to the Vigils.

The end – Jerrys emotions get the best of him when he feels frighten but know hes has to do as the Vigils say because he didn’t sell the chocolate bars He stands there in shock but ready to throw down when he has to fight Janza in front of the whole school.

* Social status

The beginning – Jerry goes into Trinity without knowing anyone. He tried out for the football team, but starts off haven a hard time due to his weigh, Because he’s so skinny everyone give him a hard time, until he meet Goober, a young boy a Trinity who also tried out for the football team.

The middle – He doesn’t have to many friends through out the whole novel. He spends time with the guys in the Vigils because they are always trying to get him to finally sell the chocolate bars. He stills talks to the Goober, and he’s interested in a young girl that he sees often at the bus station.

The end- Everyone ends up turning on Jerry for still refusing to sell the chocolates expect for the Goober who through out the whole novel was there for Jerry. He even stop selling the Chocolate so Jerry wasn’t alone.
