1. Inrix is provided with mass of data obtained from government sources, such as real time traffic flow, speed and location data information given by GPS, two years of historical traffic flow data and weather conditions data. Inrix gets these data and combine them by using digital maps in order to deliver traffic information to the customers. Inrix offers to their customers several ways to get the knowledge, that is, for instance, they can call to operators or use their smart phones to easily use the information. It is from that information that they get the knowledge in order to take decisions. In this case, the information is a snapshot of current traffic flows, expected congestion and road conditions over the next hours and days. The knowledge comes from how the customers use the different possibilities to apply their decisions. 2. There are several factors that have increased demand for this information service:  Global population growth;  More transport services in almost every city;  Increase on car demand, which is the same to same increase in car industry;  Application technology. As technology develops, people demand more and more services that provide instant information. 3. The immediate benefits to transportation companies and emergency services are: 1. Go faster to the destination; 2. Provide on time services; 3. Save lives (e.g. a heart attack in an ambulance). The long-term benefits to transportation companies and emergency services are:  Changing the routes based on previous experiences: planning;  Reduce costs. For example: if a hospital sends an ambulance and there is an accident in that route, the hospital would have to send another ambulance through another route.
