SEX EDUCATION IN VIETNAMESE SCHOOL WOULD BE

BENEFICIAL TO SOCIETY

Viet Nam is raising dramatically abortion rates because of the lack of sex education among young people in this country. Many people believe that Vietnamese government should bring sex education as a short subject to schools that can help young people to understand clearly the value of sexual relations. In the following paragraphs of this essay will list some basic benefits to society that will be brought by sex education in Vietnamese schools.

Reducing social problems is the first benefit that sex instruction would bring to society. First of all, abortion rates of Vietnamese women aged from 18 to 20 is one of the world’s highest with 30% because almost schools Viet Nam do not have sex education topics that students are curious about and need information on. Thus, the lack of knowledge and understanding in youth about sex education and contraceptive use are the main cause of high abortion rate. Consequently, to decrease abortion rates, it is vital to make sex instruction more widely in Vietnamese schools. Additionally, not only abortion rates decrease, but also prevent sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/ADIS from unsafe sexual relations if students are learned.

Another benefit of sex education in Vietnamese schools to society is that education can change people’s traditional views. To illustrate, according to BBC News in November 2009, one family in Hue do not allowed for their son, who is 24 years old, to go in the house by the front door if their son gets his girlfriend pregnant before marriage and this can lead to many serious problems such as suicide or crime when children can not go in the house. That is not the mistake of their child because children do not know how to have protected sex when parents admit that they never talk to their children about sex education.
