1. Describe a technological change you are familiar with that has changed a law.

During the earlier years of my life, I can remember a lot of everyday uses that was very slow and one had to have a lot of patience. Technology has changed the world in a variety of ways. Through technology, people can get around much easier through the use of vehicles, bikes, etc. Also, people can communicate much faster and become victims in different circumstances. This is by giving thanks to technology. People use cell phones, computers, and other similar devices to talk to people all over the world instead of having to wait sometimes months to send and receive letters. Technology also has had somewhat of a negative effect making people lazier. Through things like television remotes, and not remembering telephone numbers, people no longer have to get up to change the channel. TV's and video games keep people inside on the couch instead of outside and active

2. What is the underlying rationale for diversity jurisdiction? Do you think that rationale is still relevant today?

It is said that the courts of a state may favor their own citizens. And being bias against outsiders may become embedded in a judgment of a state court. I do think that this is still relevant today because, in order to avoid possible discriminations of this sort, so the theory goes, a citizen of a state other than that in which he is suing or being sued ought to be able to go into a wholly impartial tribunal, federal court and receive the same treatment as any other citizen in the land.

3. State three types of cases over which both state and federal courts have concurrent jurisdiction.

Breach of contracts

Murder

Illegal drugs.

4. State three types of cases that are exclusively within the jurisdiction of state courts.

State: traffic tickets, shoplifting, domestic violence

Federal: robbery, murder, illegal drugs
