Expectancy Theory

Motivation is one of the simplest while most complex management tasks. This is simply because people are essentially seeking to behavior which has reward. It should not be too hard to motivate the person , Should you determine that the person what just wants to be able to reward (motivation) to use. But at this point, the motivation becomes complex. What one person considers as a major reward, may not be important to someone else.

Unfulfilled needs  Stress  Motivation  Behavioral efforts  Fulfilled needs  Reduce stress An unfulfilled need cause of stress is which also creates dynamic person, and leads them in a way.This stress can lead to a search for a specific purpose if that purpose be provided could supply the need and reduce stress.

Expectancy Theory:

Expectancy theory is a motivation theory developed by Victor Vroom. And tries to describe behavior according to person goals and expectations for purposes. This theory believes that people can determine the chance of achieving a result that is interesting for them. It emphasized that the organization should link rewards to performance, And ensures that rewards are exactly recipients want. Vroom's expectancy theory is shown in the following equation: Motivational Force (MF) = Expectancy x Instrumentality x Valence This theory consists of three variables or relation. They are: 1) The relationship between person effort and performance. A level which organizational rewards can provide individual needs or goals and the attraction of rewards. 2) Relationship between performance and reward. A person's belief that certain level of work leads to desire outcome or reward result. 3) Relationship between reward and personal goals. From person perspective, the amount of attempt or effort that might lead to a specific action.
