Witness Paper

PART ONE – What method of evangelism did you use and how did you start the conversation? What method did you use? Why did you choose to use that method?

I tried using friendship evangelism. I have been working with him for over a year and we have spoken on several occasions on a personal level. I learned about his daughter, his sister passing away from Leukemia, and his family in Mexico.I started the conversation over lunch one Friday afternoon. The group of guys I work with order authentic Mexican tacos just about every Friday. About four to five guys standing around a cardboard covered table enjoying a great lunch. Conversation is pretty up beat talking about the day or the newest event in our lives. Everyone that I work with knows how I feel when it comes to Jesus and my faith. Occasional comments come up from two of my co-workers who attend church on special occasions. This one afternoon as we are sitting back full as a tick, I asked one of my co-workers who never comments when a spiritual conversation comes up, how he felt about it? He said “it’s fine for everyone else, but not me.”

PART TWO – What was the reaction (questions/comments/statements) of the unbeliever? He was at least willing to listen for a little while then he got quite irritated and short with me. his life the way it is. He stated that he has known some Christians and they are all hypocrites and none of them really follow what they say. I told him I was sorry to hear that you had that kind of experience around believers. I then told him that the word says in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”(ESV). He then went on to say they were family members and he heard that verse before, and said they use that so they can do what they want.i went on to say that I was disappointing that because of family you have a negative view of Christianity.
