We Are Smarter Than Me

Barry Libert is an American business executive who specializes is social technologies and business strategies. He is also an author and speaker in Boston, Massachusetts. He has more than twenty five years experience on business knowledge and management leadership. He has been involved in the advance of understanding in the use of Web 2.0 and social technologies in the business world. He is the co-author of the book “We Are Smarter Than Me” and has published five books on the importance of social networks and human interaction.

The other co-author of this book is Jonathan Spector. He is the president and manager director of The Conference Board; the most commonly cited private font of business intelligence. The Conference Board assembles thousands of executives annually in a committee, conference, meeting programs, and publishes the “Consumer Confidence Index” for eleven countries and regions around the world.

“We Are Smarter Than Me” is a book that started in 2006 with a web page (www.wearesmarter.org) and was labored by a team effort of 3,000 people. In this book the authors show how the communities can help the companies by creating new products and services, improving customer services, and making people become leaders. The book is also based on how social networks have produced a place to capture the knowledge of a crowd and illustrats how communities can come together to build and collaborate. The book explains the importance of social networks (crownds) in corporate, business, mass consumption, and shows real world examples of businesses where crowd sourcing and community empowerment are used to increase business results.
