Anna RomandashJournalism 25Semiletkina I. M.Dan Brown’s “Lost Symbol”Recently I have read few chapters from Dan Brown’s newest book, “The Lost Symbol”. It has made a great impression on me. First of all, you can’t resist this book. It makes you want to read more and more. Once you start a page, you keep on reading more and more. Simply addicting. Well, it’s something you should expect from Dan Brown. He makes read beg for more, it’s true.This book is also philosophical, scientific and exploring. Brown wants to reveal something that was hidden from the public view. He researches masons, religion and philosophy behind. “The truth will lead us through,” – says Peter Solomon, one of the main characters in the book, and this is something that the author uses in his works. Brown wants to enlighten us, to make readers more aware of what is going on behind the curtains of great political forces. He talks about conspiracy, methods and lies, about secrets and ways of finding your way in this world. I would say that Brown is unmasking what was hidden from everybody.When it comes to Brown’s manner of writing, it is simple and easy to read. His books are all the same – they are abnormally good. And that’s something we need in this ocean of low-quality literature.I watched carefully Dan Brown’s interview about “The Lost Symbol”. I loved when he said: “One of the reasons it took so long is because I remained skeptic. It took a lot of time until I could look at this science and this philosophy and start to believe it.” He believes in what he writes; but he doesn’t just take facts, he explores, researches, looks for answers and asks new questions.“I don’t attack anyone with my information. I just use it. The information I find impresses me.” Dan Brown does not try to shock the public. The public shocks itself. And it’s good that there is somebody who is not afraid to open his mind and raise his voice. People like Dam Brown are those whom we must respect for being brave. He is...
