Everybody has fantasized about a dream house. For some people getting the dream house they desire is far and full of obstacles but at the end they get their reward. For others, it remains a dream and only can be seen through the windows. It took many years of hard work and lots of scrimping and saving to be able to describe my house to you. The house is situated on a lot that is set back towards a creek. The creek is Bear Creek and feeds the Benbrook Lake and dam. This treasure of a location is serene, picturesque. Long tall trees cover part of the property while the other is nicely manicured. The house was thought out and carefully planned to ensure all our desires could be met. I guess you are wondering where this could be. The house we are living in is located in a small town south west of downtown Fort Worth, Texas. It is about a thirty minute drive to get into the city proper.

In the backyard, among the trees, is hammock. A worn hammock that has been used on many occasions as a sanctuary from the everyday grind. Looking at the hammock, there are lights that illuminate the surrounding area of trees to give a soft glow just enough to see but not too bright as to bring discomfort. The closest house to me is about a half a mile away on the small ridge that crest the area. You could consider this a hill, but we prefer crest due to the way the land reaches up on the other side of the creek. The front yard is brilliant green with Kentucky bluegrass. Softness that you can feel as you run barefoot across the yard. Reminds me of playing when I was a kid, rolling, laughing, playing cowboys and Indians. How the feelings return to a time of peace and ease. Running through the front yard can get pretty tired, so the big comfy couch waits. It is an oversize outdoor couch that feels as soft as the grass we ran through.
