Before Christ – City States were in Greece called Polis.
Beginning of the A.D – Middle Ages (Dark Ages), there was the feudal state.
18th – 19th Century – National State (After French Revolution).
20th Century – Supranational State.
Laws

Justice
The state is blindfolded and holding a scale and holds a sword
The blindfold means impartiality. The sword means that punishment shall be given. The scales means that justice is going to hear both sides of the story.
Laws is written or unwritten. If you do not obey an unwritten (norms) law, you will not be taken to court.
The parliament brings laws to order. For a law to be elected only 50% + 1 is needed. When a new law is being discussed this is called a bill.
