Oceans

We are to write a paper on a current environmental issue in which we are facing today. I have decided to write on our oceans. Most people view them as a beautiful thing or something extremely fun to swim or even fish in. However they do not see all the dangers in which our oceans face, and the results of such catastrophic events if we were to lose them. There are different issues in which our oceans face, and unfortunately it is mostly man caused. It could take a great deal of work in order to bring them back to what they once were.

Our oceans are becoming a huge source of what is referred to as “overfishing”. This obviously falls under the man-made category of crisis causes. The world has taken notice of this issue and has been taking measures here and there to try to ensure this is solved. The Natural Resources Defense Council, helps to aid in this issue by, “NRDC fights for sustainable fishing by crafting common sense fishing policies, promoting conservation-minded approaches to how fisheries are managed, and enforcing and defending laws to stop destructive fishing practices.” But that may not be enough, if people that fished for money per say and the more they catch the more they make, cuts back on his amount, that could further aid, just as if others did the same.

If all those that fished, for whatever their reason, even if its just for game, cut back on how many fish they kill, it could definitely help the population grow and all the natural things that come from it. Not only are fish good for food, but they also help the oceans ecosystem stay in balance. And this is something that I believe a lot of people who fish, do not take into consideration. They do not realize the kind of damage they are doing to our oceans ecosystem. The answer could just be as simple as making sure that people are more aware of the damages they can do to our ecosystems by taking things too far. Perhaps if any and all forms of...
