Public bathrooms to” use or not to use”

A public bathroom is a room or small building containing one or more toilets and possibly also urinals which is available for use by the general public. These bathrooms are commonly separated by gender into male and female facilities (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_toilet). In fact, most people will find that they have to use a public restroom at some time or another. It is used at work, at restaurants or when one may be at the mall. Very often one may have no option but to use the public bathroom even though they have a reputation for being an unsanitary way to relieving one’s self. However, while public bathrooms still provides a necessary function, the lack of privacy, the high risk to lurking germs and the number of reported cases of bullying are very serious threats/ effects with regards to the use of public bathrooms.

Privacy is one important element with regards to the use of public bathrooms. The issue of privacy is one that seems pervasive throughout the publics' complaints about modern public bathrooms facilities. For instance, strangers from any and all walks of life often have to use adjacent urinals, with no protection from the sounds, sights and even smells which accompany urination. Although this may seem normal to people conditioned to use these urinals, many think it strange that they must come into such a close and personal proximity to complete strangers. Take for example: when waiting in the airport gate, one can usually find a number of free seats which will allow one not to sit next to strangers. But, most public restrooms allow no such privacy. In fact, whether the young, old, strong or feeble, the public is forced to carry out their private business in communal restrooms where their neighbor can even hear them breathe.
